Creating Travel Checklists

An easy trick for hassle-free travel planning

When I was growing up, my family used to go on long camping trips in the summer. I remember that my mom made hand wrote a master Camping Checklist and made several photocopies of it.  She'd pull it out for each trip and methodically work her way through, making sure we didn't forget anything.  I remember it even having common meals planned out.

Fast forward to present day and my husband and I do the same thing for our own travel.  But thanks to modern word processing software, we keep a copy on our computers and print one out on demand.

The hassle of packing for trips has come up several times in various conversations with others lately and I find myself sharing our packing list. It isn't anything groundbreaking - but it sure simplifies trip preparations for us. We put a copy on the kitchen table and check off items as we go.
I have an additional packing list for myself but my husband doesn't.  I guess with only five health and beauty products in his life (soap, shampoo, deodorant, hair goop, toothpaste) he doesn't need a checklist :)
